I sat on my front porch in the early evening to paint this one. I could hear a New Orleans style jazz band practicing nearby. The music was great, but I don't think I let it influence my painting. Maybe it subconsciously inspired the foot prints. Those were added in at the very end. For these pencil and gesso paintings, I have been doing the drawing first and then painting in the white areas. For this one, I went back and darkened the graphite outlines at the end.
